SUMMARY:
Carpentry skills necessary to build, install, brace and strip concrete forms constructed of wood or steel to form components of concrete structures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of an apprenticeship program or an equivalent 4 years of concrete carpentry experience is required. High School diploma or GED preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Carpentry skills necessary to build, install, brace and strip concrete forms constructed of wood or steel to form components of concrete structures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Construct concrete forms including foundations, shoring and decking operations, walls & columns, and other structural elements.
- Perform vertical installations and removal, framing and decking operations, pouring of concrete, distinguishing between different types of material and equipment.
- Operate hand tools and motorized equipment including concrete saws, grinders and drills.
- Place and fasten concrete reinforcing by use of rebar.
- Can perform other general construction duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of an apprenticeship program or an equivalent 4 years of concrete carpentry experience is required. High School diploma or GED preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to work rapidly and accurately with hands.
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 - 100 pounds.
- Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Must be able to follow specific directions.
- Must be able to judge straight lines, spaces, and proportions.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, percentages, and fractions.
- Must be able to read and understand measuring tools and levels.
- Must be able to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
